Unfair Advantage x Perform

Helping you discover and leverage the science-backed principles of health and high performance to perform your best when it matters most.

It’s been a pleasure working alongside Cody for the last two years to develop Unfair Advantage. We started this journey as a passion project, with the main idea being that sport needs more integration across disciplines and that our two backgrounds lent themselves well to one another.

We wanted to model what we thought could be possible across our disciplines and wanted to explore what lies in the space between. Cody has been a great friend and mentor in the process. He helped me to break through my concerns about writing regularly and publishing, encouraged me to get started with a podcast I’d thought about for years, and has been an amazing person to learn from. In fact, his confidence in me (before I had it myself) is what’s led to this next evolution of Unfair Advantage.

That, and his wild success as a publisher and coach means he needs to step back from Unfair Advantage and focus on what he does best - helping make the coaching community a safe, healthy place to explore peak performance, fears, and helping more coaches see themselves as high-performance knowledge workers.

Moving ahead, I will be combining of Unfair Advantage with my Perform newsletter, and continuing to nurture it into a hub for the science of health, high performance, culture, and achieving our full potential. These are areas I’ve explored in both publications and the podcast, and the consolidation of this work means more time to dive deeply into what we can do to feel, think, and perform our best.

There’s no action needed on your part. You’ll automatically be moved to the new platform, and you’ll continue to receive regular content from Perform.

I recently spent some time completing the personal monopoly worksheet from Write of Passage to help me further flush out what you can expect in the coming editions of the newsletter.

Here’s some of what’s to come:

• developing high-performance systems

• talent identification, selection, and development

• how to achieve consistent success

• more on mental health and performance

• the science behind making better decisions

I look forward to continuing to make Perform as useful and practical for coaches, leaders, entrepreneurs, and high performers as possible.
